ISOLA

An aerial descent onto a private island. You start high over the water and scrolling takes you all the way down to the villa.

ISOLA, an aerial view of a turquoise private island and villa
ISOLA. The clip was made as a descent, so scrolling down and flying down are the same gesture.

What it is

ISOLA is a concept brand for a private island resort. No client, no real resort. It sits on the same engine as MARÉA, AETHER and ASCENT, but it was put together to test one specific idea.

The idea is that the camera should move the way the reader's hand moves. So the footage was generated as a descent from the start, not as a pretty clip that happened to be pointed at a villa.

What you see when you open it

You begin high above turquoise water. Scroll and you drop, past the coastline and down toward the villa on the ground. The writing lands in acts as you fall. Your own horizon first, then The Island, The Villas and The Crew, then a line reading where the tide keeps time, closing on some islands are kept, not visited.

Because the film is a descent and your scroll runs the film, going down the page and going down toward the island are the same movement. That is the piece most cinematic sites miss.

How it was built

  • The clip was generated specifically as a dramatic descent, high wide shot to villa, then cut into a frame sequence.
  • Frame index is tied to scroll position, so the flight is controlled entirely by the reader.
  • Fixed canvas behind the page with per act scrims, so the light type reads over bright water.
  • Smooth scroll, custom cursor, pointer parallax, and a gentle push in on top of the descent.
  • Redraws only fire when something moved, and the pixel ratio is capped, so it stays cool on a phone.

What it demonstrates

Matching the camera to the gesture. It is a small decision that costs nothing extra at build time and changes how the whole page feels, and it only happens if the film is planned around the page rather than dropped into it afterwards.

It also completes the set. Four brands, four palettes, four stories, one engine underneath. That is how a site with this much motion in it stays affordable for a real business instead of staying a showpiece.
